Looking back: My reflections in the time of Pandemic

Hi to our Readers! I apologize it has been a while since the last blog that I have written. I have been not into writing blogs for the past 4 or 5 years maybe. Well, I have been busy making ends meet, I focused more on my career, and now at the end of the year 2020, I have been reflecting on what have I done meaningful, and is it worth living for the past 4 to 5 years. Well, first of all, I want to share with you guys that I gave birth to my son last January of this year. Yehey for that! And guess what, he is now turning 1 year old next year.  Now, looking back on my almost 5 years of service in the government, made me think if I really deserve all the stress I have been into. Compensation wise, I am grateful my salary is beyond what I had when I first start working, and yet the tasks assigned to me have been piling up like crazy, had lots of things to do, that I am not sure if I really made the right choice and if I am really happy with what I am doing. In my first 2 years, ...

My oh my Growth and Development!

This was my personal comment on our topic Growth and Development. Feel free to comment guys! "Prof Ed1 Personal Evaluation We all know that questions, as well as the answers, about Growth and Development, can be found over the internet or even in books. I would say that this task is a bit hard for me because I have to examine myself. The first question, "At what point of growth and development are you?", took time for me to search and recall the past lessons I had in college. I would say I am now a Young Adult (the Early Adulthood Stage by Erikson) wherein I am seeking and giving love, and forming close personal relationship. Since I have overcome other stages, I am proud to say that my body had undergone a lot of changes. Physically, my body is gaining weight & I grew taller compared to what I had before. I have fully developed my motor skills (grasping and holding things), and sensory skills. I can comprehend the learning easily, can think and act well ...

Exhausted: Why is it happening?

I'm feeling tired. I have a lot of things to do but I don't know what to prioritize if all of the task are important. I keep on ask myself, "Why haven't I finished any single task?", "Why am I feeling tired?", "Why am I moody these days?", and I as I keep asking these questions in my mind, I felt stressed out. I mean, I really said to myself, "Okey, wait! WAIT! wait! I am just thinking about this problems but why I do I felt this way?" 'Tiiingg'. I can now think of reasons why is it happening. First, Multi-tasking. Since the world needs people who knows how to Multi-task, I am applying it in my everyday's life. Because of this Multi-tasking, I was able to start a lot of things but no end result. Second, Sleep Deprivation. I have noticed that lack of sleep caused me much trouble. I am thinking more negative thoughts than usual. So I recommend you guys to sleep the earliest time possible. Third, Heavin...

Going back to School

Actually, this is a late post of mine. But not that late, LOL! I had my first class last Saturday. I was really looking forward for that day. By the way, I enrolled at University of Makati under the course Teacher Certificate Program, and I will talk more about the admission and the tuition fee on my next post. So last Friday, I arrived home late (around 12AM) because my work ends late LOL! And due to overexcitement that I felt that time, I fell asleep at around 1 in the morning. Thank God my spouse woke me up at around 6 in the morning, cooked rice and even prepared clothes to wear and things to bring; so sweet of him, right?  I was at the gate of the University of Makati when the Guard asked me where I was going and reminded me I should not wear slippers inside the school. My instinct suddenly asked me to made a white lie, told him I was about to visit the School Registrar. The reason why I lied is I don’t want my Certificate of Registration to be seen by the Gat...

Giving Birth At Last in Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital

Giving birth is really hard. You can feel the hardship physically, emotionally and spiritually. Not only the pain, but you could also feel fear. Fear of surviving you and your babies' life. November 15, 2011 (11-15-11, 6-9pm) I decided to go to East Rembo Lying-In Center. Since I expected that I will give birth normally, I decided to go there first. I waited the doctor for hours. Until she said I should come back the following day for another Internal Examination. Since I saw greenish discharge from my underwear and feel a hunch that my baby will come out,  I forced my husband to bring me to Ospital ng Makati. November 15, 2011 (11-15-11, 9-12am) We have a Yellow Card that is why we want to go at Ospital ng Makati. Being a Yellow Card holder entitles me not to pay any hospital expenses if it is 10,000php below. If above 10,000php, I will only pay 300php. I filled up a lot of forms, waited for the OB, had my ultrasound (for the -Nth time). Sadly, their Deliv...

Work or Family

I am currently working in Ortigas, while my husband is staying at home. Our family is now growing, & my child is getting bigger, eats plentiful. I am now in the middle of thinking. I would like to take another part time to increase the family's income. It is easy to apply for a job, but I am worried about my daughter. There is a fear that holds me back. Lanchiel at 1.5 years old Fear that holds me back is the time that will pass by. I can earn a lot of money, but the time and moments will not be earned, and will be lost without being seen. For those Mommies like me, who is between Work or Family, let us continue choosing our Family. Family is all the we all have all our life. Work is temporary; it can be lost, we can change from one work to another. That is why I salute all the Mommies out there who choose their Family. Mabuhay Kayo!

What keeps us busy..

My husband is now working as a Sales Agent in a Funeral Homes in Pasig, a contractual employee now on his 4th month. Thank God he somehow surpassed the challenges in his work field, and seems to be enjoying after his 3-month-adjustment. We are now saving from his salary and we've done everything to make ends meet. Our Workplace. My daughter, who is now on her 9th month, starts to crawl so fast and now learning to stand on her own. While I am continuing our home business, having a hard time to do everything on my own. Our home business before my husband got a job is a printing business. Using our laptop and a dye inked inkjet printer, we started our homebased printing shop. We asked permission from my in-laws to build a small business. At first, it was hard. Now I have realized that the first challenge in a business is on how to maintain the first week, first month, then the next month. Maintaining the business operation - one of the tough demur.Improving our lay-out, ...

Spending a lot of time in Facebook

I've noticed two months ago that I am actually spending wasteful time in Facebook. I am sorry to those who love Facebook but I think its better if I will lessen the time spending into it. Because of Facebook, I spend straight 4-6 hours without drinking water, taking a pee or thinking about imaginative/business ideas. That 4 - 6 hours is sometimes spent playing Facebook games. I am sometimes irritable when my daughter wants me to attend her needs, irritable because she is disturbing me in browsing my friend's and or relative's status. Facebook Addict. Where's the Rehab? Ha ha ha Suddenly, it came to my mind, start to think the reason why I became bad-tempered. Is it because of FACEBOOK? I can't attend to my daughter's need because she's disturbing me? Is that it? Is that all? A month ago, I started to reduce the time I am spending in Facebook. It is hard not to do it since opening Facebook is the first site I am opening from a tab. Admit it,...

In-Laws Issue: Their issue is ours too..

Today is a hard day and at the same time a relief for everybody. My Mother-in-Law is a very sacrificial wife, even if she knew that her husband was having extramarital affair, she continuously love him despite his wrong doing. After years of understanding and ignoring rumors about my Father-in-Law and his mistress, it came at this point thinking/realizing how this rumors really affects the family. Afterall, he is not carrying his only surname but ours too! We are all named after him and his clan, and we are sometimes ashamed  to admit that we are part of him. It is hard to let go of him, but we made our part to help him change. We loved him without saying words but through actions. Photo Credits to HundredsofHeads Letting go of him is somehow a relief to the family - it can be stressful at first but will give us a relief for a longer time. We will not think of him more of where and what did he do or where he was with. Surely, we can adjust to that on the later days. We...

Getting Her Sleep

Is you baby easily distracted that cannot catch up her sleep? She is three months now and cannot sleep soundly compared to her earlier months. My husband and I thought that she gets awake easily because of the loud noise, but we discover it is because she is curious what that sound is and where it came from. I told my mother-in-law and she taught me something...  Put a pillow at her lap. So that if she distracted/awake, she can feel the pillow and will think that it is you. Make sure you  will do this when you are awake or doing household chores. You now ask me why? Because there will be a tendency that the pillow will be place at your child's face due to her constant kicking, and to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Till then! Hope this article helps!

Suddenly Awake

When we are walking along the street, she fall asleep. Then when she heard the horn of the jeepney, she is suddenly awaken by that sound. At first, we thought that it is because she was frightened or shocked.. but at the later part, we have realized something after this incident.. I am trying to ring the phone and she is falling asleep. To my surprise, she suddenly widen her eyes and looks curious about the sound. I have realized that it is not because she was shocked or frightened, bu it is because she is curious, that she is distracted by the different sounds she is hearing. And yes baby, you're not inside the tummy of Mommy, that's why I want you to expose to different stimuli for you to realize that you are living and breathing on your own now. So let you baby stay nosy, let them learn on their own with your help!  Have a nice day ahead Mommies!

Grasping Ability

I was really happy when I saw her grasp my hand when she was 4-day-old. But compared today that she is now 3-month-old, her grasping skill is more improved than the latter. When we went into a toy shop, I let her hold of a toy and to my amusement she hold it for about 1 minute all on her own. I am a very proud mom because of her advanced skills.  Here is a grasping activity that you can do with your child, as a have read  in baby.about.com: Gather 3 toys, allow her to hold 1 toy in each hand, 1 toy will be left and try to offer it to her. Baby should learn to put down a toy in one of her hands as she try to reach the offered toy. This is to let her learn on how to think ahead and at the same time practice her grasping skills. If she don't know how to do it, don't get frustrated because she will learn it in time. Enjoy Reading!
