Actually, this is a late post of mine. But not that late, LOL!
I had my first class last Saturday. I was really looking forward
for that day. By the way, I enrolled at University of Makati under the course
Teacher Certificate Program, and I will talk more about the admission and the
tuition fee on my next post.
So last Friday, I arrived home late (around 12AM) because my work
ends late LOL! And due to overexcitement that I felt that time, I fell asleep
at around 1 in the morning. Thank God my spouse woke me up at around 6 in the
morning, cooked rice and even prepared clothes to wear and things to bring; so
sweet of him, right?
I was at the gate of the University of Makati when the Guard asked
me where I was going and reminded me I should not wear slippers inside the
school. My instinct suddenly asked me to made a white lie, told him I was about
to visit the School Registrar. The reason why I lied is I don’t want my
Certificate of Registration to be seen by the Gate Guard because he might saw
my surname, and tell my in-law about the act of my disobedience. Anyway, I have
a pair of sandals with me, so I entered the school after changing my footwear.
FYI, my mother-in-law is one of their supervisors.
The room written on my COR is HPSB 7. I felt as if I am a fool, I
don’t know where my room is, and the feeling was the same, when I had my first
year in Our Lady of Fatima University. So going back to HPSB, I have asked a
student and told me I should go at the back of the green building. HPSB is a
new building for nursing students, and our classroom is on the 7th
floor.
I saw a lot of students at the hallway. We we’re not allowed to
enter the room without a professor. We waited for hours and my classmates were
impatient. Some were saying they will go home, influencing others, but I wasn’t
fooled by those old school cutting classes, because at the back of mind, I know
I am not in an ordinary course in college.
I met Ara and that is the start of our friendship. Luckily, her
boyfriend is part of the Security Force of the school. I even told her my story
about the Gate Incident and shared about my In-Law and her position.
Then, we went to the Faculty to ask about our professor and told
that they were having their meeting. So we went back to the cafeteria, without
following the hearsay that we should be back at 1 in the afternoon.
After having our lunch in the cafeteria, Ara and I decided to stay
inside the room, without the profession. (I would like to acknowledge Cristy
for asking Manong Guard to open the door for us, and letting us stay there.)
Then, our professor came. Professor Gail Montero. A fierce, elegant woman. One of a kind professor because her method of teaching is different from the others. A Techie-Prof, and a kind person inside and out.
Then, we laughed hard for the whole period. I didn't realize it was already time.
I had fun! I haven't expected that attending Graduate School Classes is fun and exciting. I feel free, I now know I am true to myself. No one is holding me back to pretend who they want me to be.
